Add Ztamp:s to my violet.net account
RFID for everyone
Ztamp:s and Nano:ztags have built-in small chips called RFID chips. These RFID chips can be read by a Mir:ror or a Nabaztag:tag.
Ztamp:s can be sticked on any of your existing Object (umbrella, wallet, toys, ...).
Nabaztag:tag and Mir:ror do detect these chips when they are within the detection range. The Applications installed on the Ztamp or Nano:ztag are then played either by the computer (Mir:ror) or by the Rabbit (Nabaztag:tag).
Add ztamped Objects to my violet.net account
Just like your Nabaztag:tag or your Mir:ror, your ztamped Objects can be managed through your violet.net account. To add a Ztamp or a Nano:ztag to your violet.net account, simply show this Object to your Mir:ror or your Nabaztag:tag. This Ztamp or Nano:ztag will then be automatically added to your violet.net account.
* Adding a Ztamp/Nanoztag from a Nabaztag:tag
Show the Ztamp or the Nano:ztag to your Rabbit (on his nose). Nabaztag:tag will make a sound indicating that the RFID chip has been detected and tell you to go to violet.net to add Applications to this new Object.
When you go to your account on violet.net you will see this Object added in the 'Objects Picker'.
* Adding a Ztamp/Nano:ztag from a Mir:ror
Put the Ztamp/Nano:ztag or a ztamped Object on your Mir:ror. A window will open in which you will be able to change the default name of your ztamp and add Applications.
It will also be automatically added to your violet.net account and you will be able to find it in the 'Objects Picker'.
| Caution: When you show a RFID chip for the first time to a reader (Nabaztag:tag or Mir:ror), the chip is added to the account of the owner of this reader. |
Find and manage my Objects
A Ztamp is not only able to trigger actions, it's also a genuine communicating Object, able to interact with other Objects (ztamp:s, nabaztag, nabaztag:tag, mir:ror,...).
A ztamp can be completely personnalized. This is how to make your Object completely unique to the world:
* Select your Ztamp
Click on the Object Picker. A panel is displayed on the website with all the Objects which belong to you.
Click on your ztamp. The Object appears in the left frame.
* Name your Ztamp
In order to recognize your ztamp amongst your connected Objects and to define how you want it to appear in the Objects directory, you can give hime a name.
Select your ztamp in the 'Object Picker'.
Click on 'Pedigree'.
Select the 'Basic' tab.
Choose a nice name for your Ztamp. This is the name which will appear in the 'Object Picker' and also the name displayed in the object directory.
* E-mail address of your Ztamp
Your Ztamp, like every other Violet Objects, has its own email address. You can view and edit the e-mail address of your ztamp under the 'Basic' tab in the Pedigree of your Ztamp.
You can change the prefix of the e-mail address of your ztamp (before the @things.violet.net).
Using this address, your friends will be able to send e-mails to your Ztamp:s. If your Ztamp contains a message, it will be played on a Mir:ror or a Nabaztag:tag when you show the ztamp.
The Violet Objects will read the subject line of the e-mail. the body is not read.
| Info: In order to prevent spam on the Objects, only the e-mail addresses associated to a Violet.net account are authorized to send e-mails to Objects. |
* A picture for your Ztamp
There are plenty of Objects on which you can stick a Ztamp. Show to the world what your ztamped object looks like!
This will also help you to recognize and manage your Objects in the 'Object Picker' on violet.net.
